Team Chapstick!

I got up at 4am this morning to cheer Team Chapstick on to become Team Lipstick. That's the triathlon team I was on briefly before I quit to focus on the Marathon. But now that I'm not running the marathon, I am focused on losing weight through managing my food intake.
Anyways, there I am standing, two from the left. Sara was also not racing but I didn't get to talk to her much. I am trying to see where to go in the Hamptons on Sunday for a romantic dinner with Davey. And she spent some summers in Amagansett so I was thinking she could let me know what's the in place to eat in the Hamptons.

Facebook updates

The Giants got clobbered and annihilated today by the New Orleans Saints, 48-27 last time I checked.

So I finally emailed Marty to see if we're running the marathon, want to do 10 minute miles, he might run faster. So I also emailed Nori to see if he wanted to run the marathon together.

Saw Marty at the Grete's Gallop but didn't wake up in time for the Staten Island Marathon. He sent me three text messages that day.

On an even more stalkerish way, I am steadily checking Marty's facebook and he deleted his sister's comments. The comment was innocuous until the last sentence, asking him how Tomoko was doing. Who is Tomoko? Ina, his sister, mentioned Tomoko back in March of this year. So I knew about her. And was waiting to hear what Marty would respond with, but then I just checked his facebook today and he deleted his sister's comments, which makes me wonder who is Tomoko and why would he delete mention of her? Too bad I am not going out with Marty, I can't ask him. If I was, I would have asked him a way long time ago. Heehee.

I hope I see him at the Poland Spring 5M'er on the Sunday October 25, one week from now. Took a week off from running since I injured my left calf... Hope to run 6 miles tomorrow and then 16 miles on Wednesday.

Battle of the Juans

Juan Carlos Ferrero lost to Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets in the fourth round on Tuesday.

I am watching past tennis matches since there's rain in the forecast.

I don't think Marty can do the marathon. He prolly won't run for the next two weeks. He just can't keep missing his long runs. I'm going to run 12 miles on Sunday. Hopefully run 6 miles tomorrow. I will do this marathon even if it kills me.

Juan Carlos Ferrero

Came back from Aruba 10 days ago. I got really dark. And not burnt, so yay for me.

I am now cheering for Juan Carlos Ferrero. I went to two of his matches and now he's in the fourth round tomorrow, which I'm also going to. I tried going to his second round but the tickets were sold out. He is meeting 6th seed Juan Martin del Potro, a formidable foe. He's going to need all the luck he can get. I hope my good luck extends to tennis.

I ran 6 miles yesterday but wanted to run 12 miles but my right knee started hurting, I might have to take off a few days to heal that.

I haven't seen Marty in weeks. He's doubtful for the marathon, he hasn't been running enough. I don't know what his problem is. He can't possibly run the marathon with what little training he's doing. Not my problem though. I am going to run this marathon if it kills me.

Ocean Drive or Long Island Marathon?

I'm determined to run a marathon next late winter or early spring since I can never get into the NYC Marathon. I'm torn between the Ocean Drive marathon the last weekend of March or the Long Island Marathon the first weekend of May. It'll probably be easier to train for the Long Island Marathon since it'll be warmer from February to April as opposed to training from December to February.

I am also not sure if I should hire a trainer to devise a running schedule for me. Maybe I will try to devise my own running schedule and for my next marathon, which will be the 2009 NYC Marathon (I finally will get into it next year, don't ask me how), I can hire a trainer so that I can do it under 4 hours.

My original goal is to run 10 minute miles for the whole duration, which would lead to a time of about 4 hours, 20 minutes, but we'll see maybe I'll start walking after the first 20 miles!

Back at my parents for Labor Day weekend, although I have to go back to work on Monday morning

I was able to start the taxes for the 5K client. I finished their statement of position. Not too bad for an hour of work. I will work on it all-day tomorrow.

I have a guest pass to the Great Neck gym. I vow tomorrow to be the start of my running program. I am going to train and successfully complete the Miami Marathon in January 2009.
