hopelessly in love

So I am still hopelessly in love with Marty. I am realizing this after ending it with Adam after a week and a half of dating him. I wasn't even sure if I liked him. But I do know that I still think about Marty and how I miss him. I think I'll send him a Christmas card professing my love for him and just letting him know. I am pathetic.

Last post about Marty, I swear!!!

I wonder if Marty read my blog and that's why he unfriended me. That seems so passive aggressive. If he read my blog, he should confront me about it. Maybe he's non-confrontational.

No clue how he could have traced this blog back to him. But Marty, if you're reading this, leave me a comment so at least I know why you don't want to be my friend.

I guess friends don't talk behind people's backs. But this blog is kinda like my diary. I don't think anyone reads this, maybe one or two of my friends... I did open a livejournal account where I keep a diary only readable by me. There I vent about all my friends.. Since they won't be able to read it.

Marty unfriended me on Facebook. I'm never going to see him again. Which is a good thing since I need to get over him. I still don't know what I did wrong.

On other guy fronts, a guy on match.com emailed me. He's from NJ. He seems interested in me and he's kinda cute. Tall and has hair, thin... Not bald or close to being overweight like Marty. I am not sure if I would call Marty fat, but he's not thin like I like guys... Anyways, this'll be my last post abt Marty unless he emails me or text messages me, but I think it's really over this time. I just wonder why he wouldn't let me cut the relationship off back when I thought he didn't like me. It would have saved me the hurt and the confusion... I will run the marathon and hopefully beat his time. My goal is 4:30, anything below that will be icing on the cake. I hope Marty finishes in 5 hours. Haha.

Good Riddance

Yay, I lost my stalker. Maybe he wasn't a stalker but he was kinda like one... He emailed me over the period of 5 years asking me to hang out with him. Finally gave him the message that I would never ever meet him...

I think I'm going to avoid Marty this week. I don't want to see him anymore. After the marathon I will probably never see him again. He's not running the marathon next year. I am. I need to find a reliable training partner. I think Guarav, the organizer of the Urban Feet meetup will be a good training partner. He might be too fast though. I still think I'm in love with Marty but I have to get over him. He's ugly. I would never have married him even if he wanted to marry me. So end of story. I don't want my kids to be bald. HAHA.

NYC Marathon in 5 days and counting!!!

I think I'm slowly getting over Marty. He was kinda ugly and I wasn't attracted to him at all. I just liked his personality.

Anyways, I'm not running with Nori or Marty for the marathon. I've decided to run it on my own. That way I can slow down or speed up when I want to and not have to worry about someone else... My aim is to finish this marathon in 4:10... so 9:30 minute miles. I did 9:30 min miles for the Brooklyn Half-Marathon and that tactic was to slow down at the water stops and walk while drinking Gatorade and then speeding up after the water stops to run at a 9-9:15 pace. Worse case scenario is I do 10 minute miles and do it in 4:22 like the LI Marathon. It's my first NYC Marathon so so excited. I was going to ask my mom and dad to wait for me at the finish line, but I don't think I'm going to make them do that. I was also going to ask my friends to come and cheer for me along the route, but I don't think I'm going to make them come out.

On an interesting note, I have to say Marty's treating me like shit. One reason I'm getting over him. He's not the nice guy I thought he was. I know I'm not dating him anymore but the least he can do is respond to me. For instance I sent him a fb message last Sunday asking him if he was doing the Poland Spring Marathon Kickoff 5 mile race yesterday. No response so I sent him an email on Tuesday asking him again abt that and the marathon. Then Wed or Thurs night I see him online and he apologizes to me for not getting back to me via chat, and I tell him thats okay, to let me know. Then on Saturday morning I see him online and he tells me he's not sure if he's running the 5 miler. And then saying judging from our half-marathon (we ran the first 7 miles of the half marathon before I lost him) we prolly can't run the marathon together. I am pretty pissed off since I thought he was my training partner. I even gave him a gift of a running book. If only I can take it back. So I tell him we'll run the races at our own pace and just meet up at the start and he agreed to that. But lately, I've checked his race finish times and they are much faster than what he used to run. I want to caution him not to go out too fast, that's what happened to Rich. He ran the first 20 miles in 8:30-9 minute miles and then he was butchered for the rest of the run and ended up walking and finishing in 4:43... which means he averaged 11 minute miles. To go from 9 minute miles for the first 20 miles, to average 11 minute miles for 26.2 miles means you're walking the last three or four miles. I'd rather keep a 9:30-10 minute mile pace then to go out fast and then burn out before the race is over. If I learned one thing from Team for Kids while training for them is that you should run your last 10k faster than your first 20 miles...

Hmm that was a long paragraph but too lazy to divide it... :)

Facebook updates

The Giants got clobbered and annihilated today by the New Orleans Saints, 48-27 last time I checked.

So I finally emailed Marty to see if we're running the marathon, want to do 10 minute miles, he might run faster. So I also emailed Nori to see if he wanted to run the marathon together.

Saw Marty at the Grete's Gallop but didn't wake up in time for the Staten Island Marathon. He sent me three text messages that day.

On an even more stalkerish way, I am steadily checking Marty's facebook and he deleted his sister's comments. The comment was innocuous until the last sentence, asking him how Tomoko was doing. Who is Tomoko? Ina, his sister, mentioned Tomoko back in March of this year. So I knew about her. And was waiting to hear what Marty would respond with, but then I just checked his facebook today and he deleted his sister's comments, which makes me wonder who is Tomoko and why would he delete mention of her? Too bad I am not going out with Marty, I can't ask him. If I was, I would have asked him a way long time ago. Heehee.

I hope I see him at the Poland Spring 5M'er on the Sunday October 25, one week from now. Took a week off from running since I injured my left calf... Hope to run 6 miles tomorrow and then 16 miles on Wednesday.

No playoff tickets

Still confused if Marty's joining me on the run on Sunday.

So no playoff tickets for the Yankees for the postseason. Jackie, the season ticket holder, found out the bad news today. :(

Enchanted

Nothing much is happening today. Saw the rest of Enchanted, pretty good movie with Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey.

I ran 6 miles yesterday, but I need to run more tomorrow before my tax appointment with Corey at 2pm.

I am confused if Marty is going to join me for the training run on Sunday. I emailed him via facebook and told him I was going to do it, then he responded with a "Sounds good. Good practice" Not sure if that means he'll be joining me. I guess I have to run into him online to see if he's indeed running it.

Missing Guga... it's been exactly 4 months since he's passed away. RIP Guga.

Jets win

Marty im'ed me on gmail. I installed gchat on my phone so I was logged on and he sent a message at 4:10am asking why I was still up. I was in bed, didn't sign out of the gchat on my phone. He was in Ireland at the time.

So on his facebook I wished him a Happy Birthday. He wrote me a message on fb thanking me for the birthday wishes. He wrote on someone's wall but he sent me a message. What does that mean?

The Jets win over the NE Patriots 16-9. Woohoo! Now the Giants have to beat the Cowboys tonight and both teams will be 2-0.

Rafael Nadal won his quarterfinal match against Fernando Gonzalez 7-6, 7-6, 6-0. He's on to the semifinals to face Juan Martin del Potro. If he wins, I promised to get my doggie a dog bed. My mom will buy a dog bed for Paddy if Roger Federer wins. I don't like Roger that much. Ever since he cried at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Now it's another rain delay.

I need to run 12 miles, but I am thinking of running 6 miles first then resting a day and then running 12 miles. Don't want to jump into running 12 miles and reinjuring my knee. I wonder if Marty will run on Wednesday.

Bets

I bet with Rich way back when I was still talking to him that the DOW Jones would reach 10K by 9/30/09. Lo and behold on 9/11, the DOW is at 9600. Go me. I don't think he'll contact me because I unfriended him on Facebook. But I was so tempted to send him a postcard from Aruba, but then I decided against it.

Evan friended me on Facebook. I could have looked him up on Facebook, I briefly thought about doing that, but then the feeling passed. Then lo and behold, he friended me about a week ago. Who would have thought he's thought about me. I haven't communicated with him via fb, I never did like him that much. Never was I ever in love with him, not like it's with Marty.

Battle of the Juans

Juan Carlos Ferrero lost to Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets in the fourth round on Tuesday.

I am watching past tennis matches since there's rain in the forecast.

I don't think Marty can do the marathon. He prolly won't run for the next two weeks. He just can't keep missing his long runs. I'm going to run 12 miles on Sunday. Hopefully run 6 miles tomorrow. I will do this marathon even if it kills me.

Juan Carlos Ferrero

Came back from Aruba 10 days ago. I got really dark. And not burnt, so yay for me.

I am now cheering for Juan Carlos Ferrero. I went to two of his matches and now he's in the fourth round tomorrow, which I'm also going to. I tried going to his second round but the tickets were sold out. He is meeting 6th seed Juan Martin del Potro, a formidable foe. He's going to need all the luck he can get. I hope my good luck extends to tennis.

I ran 6 miles yesterday but wanted to run 12 miles but my right knee started hurting, I might have to take off a few days to heal that.

I haven't seen Marty in weeks. He's doubtful for the marathon, he hasn't been running enough. I don't know what his problem is. He can't possibly run the marathon with what little training he's doing. Not my problem though. I am going to run this marathon if it kills me.

Aruba

I just booked my flight and hotel to Aruba. Going with a few friends. First vacation since I went to San Francisco in 2008. Fun in the sun. Might go snorkeling and scuba diving, if I can afford it since I know how to swim now.

Hopefully I'll come back dark and tanned and well-rested. Five days, Sun to Fri. I'll be back to my long run on Sat or Sun with Marty. :)

Busy weekend

I had a busy weekend. Let me start it by going through what happened Friday.

I went to my first Yankees-Bosox game. I want to go to Boston and attend a Yankees-Bosox game there, but I digress. It was a great pitchers' duel between Josh Beckett and AJ Burnett. Somewhere in the 7th inning, I wondered how many innings this event will go through. I stayed until the 14th inning, and then I had to leave because I had to catch the 1:19am train home, if I missed it I would have to wait for the 3:20am train home. The game ended 10 minutes after I left with A-Rod hitting a 2 run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 15th inning.

So after spending 5:30 hrs, I spent a relaxing Saturday at home. I helped kill, clean and then I cooked crab with egg, scallion and ginger. It came out quite nicely making me reconsider myself as a bad cook.

Saturday night was busy, I went to my cousin's daughter's banquet party. She was barely 3 months old. Her name is Sandrine. Not a fan of her name. It rhymes with gangrine, but whatever. Not my child. I stayed for an hour and then jetted off to visit my friends Chiemi and Jacqui at Chez Jacqueline, got the lobster risotto and chardonnay. I enjoyed the wine, which surprised me I don't normally like wine.

I luckily caught the 11:19pm train back home by 10 seconds. Got home 20 after midnight as they ran out of taxicabs at the train station.

I then got about 4 hours of sleep because I had to wake up to catch the 5:57am train to Penn Station to meet the bus going to DC at 7:15am. You see I had bought a ticket to see Cristiano Ronaldo play soccer with the Real Madrid team against DC United at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. 4.5 hr bus trip culminated in a parking lot barbecue of hamburgers and hot dogs. Went with the Real Madrid meetup group. Ronaldo only played the first half but I was in heaven watching him play for 45 minutes. He left after the first half, but Real Madrid scored three times to win it 3-0 over DC United. It was a great match if you were a Real Madrid supporter.

Then it took abt 5 hours to get back home at 10:45pm. I got home again at midnight, just to see my dad pull in from work.

This week is a chill week. Just have lunch plans with a former co-worker on Thursday.

Also it's day 9 of my running sabbatical. One more day of inertia and then I get to return to running on Wednesday Aug 12. I am debating on whether or not to ask Marty to go running with me this weekend. I am thinking I should go alone to test my fitness, don't want to drag him out and then stop in the middle of the run. But I haven't seen him in 2 weeks and I miss him. I think I'm going to fall hard for him. For however much I liked Rich, I was never in love with him. He was way too conservative. But with Marty, I can feel myself slowly falling for him. He walks with me when I need to walk during our runs, he doesn't abandon me. How nice is that? I even wrapped his gift ahead of his Sept 18 bday. I gave him the extra copy of Running Within I accidentally purchased before I even met him. It's not at all personal so I most likely will give it to him for his birthday. And it's not like I bought it for him. That and a $3 map to Central Park. So my whole gift to him was $3. I found my Central Park map, on another brighter note. I love that map.

Okay this is a long enough entry, I'll write more when I start running and keep you posted on whether or not I am doing the long run on my own this weekend or not.

Calf Injuries

So I reinjured my calf yesterday, running 5 miles. I don't think I should have kept running on it. This time instead of resting it for 4 days, I'll rest it for 10 days. I really want to run this marathon. I'll miss Marty for a week and a half. I've decided that I really want to run this marathon above all else so I'll use Marty as a training partner. So what if I fall in love with him. I've fallen in love before. After the marathon is over, it'll be over. He would have met my parents, my brother, and even Paddy. I might get to meet his younger brother Seamus.

Friday In

I wonder how many people read this blog. I think I can think of only two. I might start another livejournal account to have my own journals where no one reads it. Took this off of my Facebook link.

Spending a Friday in. Have a long training run tomorrow at 7am.

I have to make a decision on whether or not I want to continue having Marty as a training partner. I think I'm falling for him. Not good. Trying to fight it. I really want to run this marathon with someone else, that will ensure me running the marathon. This'll be the eighth year that I've wanted to run the NYC Marathon. Ever since 2001. No excuses this year as I'm self-employed and have all the time in the world to train. The real question is that if I run the August 16 NYC Half-Marathon I'll get an entry for the 2010 Marathon. Who am I going to train with then? James? He lives in NJ and tried dating me when I wasn't interested in him.

Marathon training

Got my first injury while training for the NYC Marathon. I strained my left calf muscle running on a treadmill on Wednesday. Luckily it didn't snap or pop, I think it's either a grade 1 or grade 2. The doctor said it was grade 1 but I wasn't entirely truthful when he was poking my calf muscle so who knows. Hope it's only grade 1.

I met this guy Marty last month. He's training for the NYC Marathon and agreed to be my running partner. I met him on Match.com so we were dating until I broke it off this past Monday. He's not looking for anything serious since his last relationship was serious and he didn't enjoy it much. I'm not going to try and convince him to be in a relationship with me, so I decided to just be his training partner. I am happy with my decision. I hung out with him on Tuesday night as friends and had the best time ever. Too bad I'm injured now. I was supposed to go running with him tonight. I may be able to get back to running as soon as next Friday but Marty's going to Boston next weekend. So prolly won't go running with him for another two weeks. Hope he still agrees to be my training partner.
